Experience Bridge with a free UI design touchup

While nothing can replace design research conducted with real-world users, diligent and deliberate review can catch a number of issues during the design process – before they suck up time and money bedeviling users in testing, or worse still, in real use.

Usability maven Jakob Nielsen codified a heuristics-based method of design review for UIs back in the ‘90s. For UI purposes, “heuristics” are a set of good design rules that a project team agrees should be built into the UI. In an in-depth heuristics exercise, several trained and expert UI reviewers make multiple passes through all critical use cases. They note, rank, compare, aggregate, and brainstorm solutions for heuristic “violations.”

We’re offering you a mini-heuristics review and touchup. We’ll point out where straying from heuristics is compromising usability, and gesture in the direction of how you might get back on track.

Here’s a sample of what Bridge might do for you

(This is a mini review and touchup of a “consumer medical” android app – done by Bridge without participation by the app’s authors. Collaboration would of course better inform and might revise our findings and recommendations.)

Interested?  Please tell us about your project – by Friday, December 19.

If your project is a good fit for our expertise, we’ll contact you to move forward with an in-depth briefing and a plan of attack (and an NDA, if necessary).

What does your product do?

Who uses it? (expert trained professionals, teenagers with summer jobs, broad swaths of humanity…)

On what part of your UI should the most design attention be lavished, and why?

Is your UI live, or is it on a demo website? Please provide the url. Alternatively, share links to images (wireframe sketches, screenshots...).
