Experience Bridge with a free UI design touchup
While nothing can replace design research conducted with real-world users, diligent and deliberate review can catch a number of issues during the design process – before they suck up time and money bedeviling users in testing, or worse still, in real use.
Usability maven Jakob Nielsen codified a heuristics-based method of design review for UIs back in the ‘90s. For UI purposes, “heuristics” are a set of good design rules that a project team agrees should be built into the UI. In an in-depth heuristics exercise, several trained and expert UI reviewers make multiple passes through all critical use cases. They note, rank, compare, aggregate, and brainstorm solutions for heuristic “violations.”
We’re offering you a mini-heuristics review and touchup. We’ll point out where straying from heuristics is compromising usability, and gesture in the direction of how you might get back on track.
