Bill Evans, SVP of Innovation for Bridge Design, a Ximedica Company, recently served as co-chair of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Medical Design Conference in San Francisco Nov. 11 and 12. The conference, titled ‘From Volume to Value,’ offered an opportunity for designers and clinicians to come together to better understand each other’s perspective and foster better collaboration between disciplines.
In a MDO feature article on the conference, Evans discussed the future of design in health care with journalist Heather Thompson. “Patient outcomes are very important, but value is about more than just cost effectiveness. Ultimately getting these things right will help create more cost effective care as well.”
